Thiruvalluvar Statue – Summary

The Thiruvalluvar Statue is a monumental tribute to Thiruvalluvar, the legendary Tamil poet and philosopher, author of the Thirukkural. Standing majestically on a rocky islet off the coast of Kanyakumari, the statue rises to a height of 133 feet, symbolizing the 133 chapters of the Thirukkural. Inaugurated in the year 2000, the statue represents Tamil culture, ethics, and universal human values. Set against the vast ocean at the confluence of three seas, it is one of the most iconic landmarks of South India.
